Overview
Work Winning Studio is committed to protecting your privacy and handling your personal information responsibly. This policy explains how I collect, use and protect personal data when you visit my website or otherwise interact with me.
Who I am
Work Winning Studio (“I”, “me”, “my”) is operated by Deborah Orr, an independent Bid Consultant based in the United Kingdom. If you have any questions about this Privacy Policy or how your personal information is handled, please contact:
Deborah Orr: deborah@workwinningstudio.com
What personal data I collect
I collect limited personal data, and only what's necessary to respond to enquiries and provide my services:
- Contact details you give me directly - for example, your name, email address, and any details you include when you get in touch by email
- Booking details - if you use the booking link on my site, you'll be taken to my Microsoft Bookings page, hosted by Microsoft, to schedule a call. Microsoft, not this website, collects and processes the information you enter there (see "Third-party tools" below)
- Social media interactions - if I contact you or you contact me via a platform such as LinkedIn, any personal data exchanged is processed within that platform (see "Third-party tools" below)
- Professional details I find myself - where I identify you as a relevant industry contact, for example through your publicly visible LinkedIn profile, I may hold basic professional details such as your name, job title, employer and any information you've made publicly available there, in order to make initial contact about my services.
Cookies
This website does not use analytics, advertising or tracking cookies.
Any essential technical cookies required for the operation of third-party services (such as online booking functionality) are managed by the relevant service providers.
Where I get your data
Most of the data I hold comes directly from you, when you contact me or make a booking. In some cases, if I've identified you as a relevant industry contact, I may have found your professional details myself through publicly available sources such as your LinkedIn profile, rather than you having given them to me directly.
How I use your data
I use personal data to:
- Respond to enquiries you send me
- Arrange and manage calls or meetings you book with me
- Discuss and deliver my services, where you become a client
- Carry out reasonable business development outreach, including via platforms such as LinkedIn (see below)
My lawful basis for processing
I rely on the following lawful bases under UK GDPR:
- Legitimate interests - to respond to enquiries, and to carry out proportionate business development outreach (for example, messages via platforms such as LinkedIn to relevant businesses about my services). I only do this where I judge my interest in growing the business doesn't override your rights, and I make it easy for you to opt out or ask me to stop contacting you.
- Contract - where I'm taking steps to enter into, or performing, a contract with you as a client.
Third-party tools I use
I'm selective about the tools I use, choosing established, reputable providers with strong data protection practices. These currently include, for example:
- Microsoft 365 (including Bookings) - used for email, scheduling and general business administration.
- LinkedIn - used for professional networking and business outreach.
This isn't an exhaustive list, and the tools I use may change over time, subject to the same standard of care. Where a provider processes data outside the UK, they rely on their own approved safeguards, such as UK-recognised Standard Contractual Clauses or adequacy arrangements, to ensure your data continues to receive an appropriate level of protection. I'd encourage you to review each provider's own privacy policy for details of how they handle your data.
How long I keep your data
I keep personal data only as long as necessary for the purposes set out above, for example, for the duration of an enquiry or client relationship and any period required afterwards for legal, accounting or record-keeping purposes.
Where you're an industry contact or lead, I may also keep basic details (such as your name, employer and role) for ongoing business development purposes, and so that if you get in touch again in future, I have the context of any previous contact rather than starting from scratch. I'll keep this for as long as I judge it relevant to a genuine business connection, and I'll review and remove it where it's no longer needed or if you ask me to. You can ask me to delete your details or stop being contacted at any time (see "Your rights" below).
Your rights
Under UK GDPR, you have the right to:
- Ask what personal data I hold about you
- Ask me to correct inaccurate data
- Ask me to delete your data
- Object to my processing, including outreach, based on legitimate interests
- Ask me to restrict how I use your data
- Complain to the Information Commissioner's Office (ICO) if you're unhappy with how I've handled your data
To exercise any of these rights, contact me at deborah@workwinningstudio.com.
You can also complain to the ICO at ico.org.uk, though I'd appreciate the chance to resolve any concerns directly first.
